KABUL – At least 68 Afghan militants and 9 troops were killed in recent fighting throughout Afghanistan, media reported.
Troops killed at least 68 militants in a 24-hour span, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said August 9, according to the Afghanistan Times.
Nine soldiers were killed in that time span.
Troops August 9 killed at least 14 insurgents, including a Taliban shadow deputy district governor, in Imam Sahib District, Kunduz Province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said August 10, according to Khaama Press.
Those 14 dead insurgents might have been part of the 68 insurgents whom the Afghanistan Times reported as killed.
