KABUL -- At least 119 militants and 7 Afghan soldiers were killed in recent fighting across Afghanistan.
Troops recently killed at least 43 militants, including five suicide bombers, in a 24-hour span nationwide, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said August 29, according to the Afghanistan Times.
Seven Afghan troops perished, the MoD added.
In Nangarhar Province, troops recently killed at least 76 Taliban in a two-day operation, provincial governor's spokesman Ataullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News August 29.
Meanwhile, a nighttime Afghan air force strike August 29 in Janikhail District, Paktia Province, killed four Haqqani Network terrorist commanders, provincial governor's spokesman Naqib Attal said, according to TOLO News.
The four might have been part of the 43 dead militants reported by the MoD August 29.
