7 attackers killed in Logar; terror plot foiled in Nangarhar

KABUL -- Afghan troops killed seven insurgents in Charkh District, Logar Province, September 1, media reported.

The militants attacked the district government compound in Charkh, but troops killed them, TOLO News reported, quoting provincial government spokesman Salim Khan Saleh.

Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel recently arrested two suspected would-be suicide borders at the Torkham border crossing before they could blow themselves up in Jalalabad, the NDS said, according to a September 1 Khaama Press report.

NDS operatives recently arrested 21 suspects accused of belonging to the Taliban's Quetta Shura (Council) in Kandahar Province, Khaama Press reported August 31.
