Afghanistan violence kills 60 militants, 6 soldiers

KABUL -- At least 60 militants were killed during security operations across Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, according to Bakhtar News Agency (BNA).

Four Afghan soldiers and at least 60 militants were killed during counter terrorism operations in 12 Afghan provinces, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said. The operations were launched with support of Afghan air and artillery forces, the MoD press office announced. Several hideouts and some military mobilisations were destroyed during the air strikes.

Meanwhile, a roadside blast in Almar district of Faryab province killed two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and wounded another September 14, Spokesman for 209th Shaheen Military Corps Maj. Fazal Ahmad Dawari said, according to Pajhwok Afghan News.
