KABUL -- Afghan and Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan (HI) party officials September 22 in Kabul signed their long-awaited peace agreement, media reported. Gulbuddin Hekmatyar leads the HI party.

The ceremony took place in the Afghan High Peace Council (HPC) office in Kabul, TOLO News reported.

The agreement goes to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Hekmatyar for final endorsement, HPC member Habiba Sarobi said.

Abdullah tried hard to prevent peace talks between the government and Hizb-e-Islami, but he could not succeed. When Hizb made peace with the government, it was a perfect trial period for the government. However, the government failed during that period and did not fulfill the promises made to Hizb-e-Islami. This issue caused the Taliban not to be willing to make peace. If Hizb had been appropriately treated, the Taliban could have made peace. If the problem had been solved through peace, all Afghans would now be together, and there would be no issues of human rights, women's rights, or minority rights... May God happen as the Taliban make peace with all their opponents and Afghanistan gets rebuilt.

Very well done. May Allah help other armed groups too to stop the fighting and join the peace process. Peace shall prevail forever in the whole world.
