KABUL -- Afghan commandos recently launched an offensive to re-open the highway linking Tirin Kot, Uruzgan Province, to Kandahar Province, TOLO News reported September 23.
Fighting between the Taliban and government forces forced the highway's closure in the past two weeks, officials said.
"We will leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety of the highway," Afghan National Army (ANA) commando Fazl Noor told TOLO News.
