15 Afghans killed in blasts; suspected would-be suicide bomber caught

KABUL -- Bombs in three provinces killed at least 15 Afghans, while authorities nabbed a suspected would-be suicide bomber, media reported.

An explosion in Darzab District, Jawzjan Province, October 3 killed at least six civilians, provincial governor's spokesman Mohammad Reza Ghafoori confirmed, according to TOLO News.

A bomb planted on a bicycle October 3 in Kabul killed at least two Afghans, TOLO News reported. The bomb exploded when a Ministry of Defence personnel vehicle was passing through the area, Kabul Criminal Investigation Department Chief Fraidoon Obaidi said.

A roadside bomb in Lashkargah, Helmand Province, recently killed seven members of the same family, provincial governor's spokesman Omar Zwak said October 2, according to Khaama Press.

The dead included four children and two women, he added.

The National Directorate of Security recently arrested a suspected "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) would-be suicide bomber in Jalalabad before he could blow himself up, Khaama Press reported October 2.
