KUNDUZ -- Afghan security forces recently killed at least 25 insurgents during a Taliban attack on Kunduz city, provincial police chief Gen. Qasim Jangalbagh said, according to an October 3 TOLO News report.
The situation is improving and security forces have control over all areas, according to Kunduz Governor Asadullah Amarkhil.
The Taliban are leaving their members' corpses behind as they flee the area, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) tweeted.
Afghan First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum recently took charge of the Kunduz battle. He organised a conference October 3 to hear about on-going security offensives, Khaama Press reported.
Troops and militants are fighting too in Khanshin District, Helmand Province, officials said October 4, according to TOLO News.
