Security forces kill 92 Taliban fighters

URUZGAN -- At least 92 Taliban militants were killed during operation as security forces cleared the Kandahar-Uruzgan Highway, re-opening road link between two provinces, officials said October 14, according to TOLO News.

Security forces not only re-opened the highway but also established an alternative way in order to connect the two provinces, Police Chief of Kandahar's Shah Wali Kot district Pacha said.

At least 92 Taliban fighters and three army soldiers were killed in the military operation, the 215 Maiwand Corps said in a statement.

About 172 mines were also recovered and defused during the operation.
