10 Afghan militants, 5 policemen, 7 civilians killed

KABUL -- At least 10 Afghan militants, five police officers and seven civilians were killed in recent violence nationwide, Pajhwok Afghan News reported in several stories.

Ten militants were killed in recent fighting in two districts of Ghazni Province, provincial deputy police chief Col. Asadullah Shajae told Pajhwok Afghan News November 9.

A land mine in Zankhan District recently killed five police officers, Shajae added.

Another land mine in Shah Wali Kot, Kandahar Province, November 9 killed seven members of one family, the Kandahar governor's spokesman said.

The slain civilians included three children and two women. The family was returning from a wedding.
