Several ISIL fighters killed in Nangarhar

JALALABAD -- Several members of the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) were killed recently in fighting in Nangarhar Province, while security forces nabbed a suspected would-be suicide bomber in Paktika Province, officials said.

ISIL suffered heavy casualties in Pacheragam District, Nangarhar Province, the provincial police said, adding that militants left eight comrades' bodies on the battlefield, Khaama Press reported November 30.

Meanwhile, police in Sharana, Paktika Province, detained a suspected would-be suicide bomber on November 30, provincial police chief Khalilullah Ziayee said according to Khaama Press.

The suspect was heading toward his target when police caught him, Ziayee said.

Police in recent anti-drug operations in several provinces arrested at least eight suspected drug traffickers, killed one and seized about a tonne of drugs, Pajhwok Afghan News reported November 29.
