Uzbek-Afghan economic panel convenes in Tashkent

TASHKENT -- Uzbekistan and Afghanistan's joint commission on trade, transport and energy on Monday (December 26) in Tashkent convened for the second time, Podrobno.uz reported.

The commission met for the first time in April 2015.

Members of the commission discussed the countries' economic potential and ways to expand trade and economic co-operation.

In 2015, trade between the countries reached US $444.5 million (1.4 trillion UZS or 29.7 billion AFN), while in the first 10 months of 2016, it exceeded US $429 million (1.4 trillion UZS or 28.7 billion AFN), according to the report.
