Afghan army offers incentives for female recruits

KABUL -- Afghan authorities are offering incentives to recruit more women into the Afghan National Army (ANA), TOLO News reported Thursday (January 26).

The army has 5,000 vacancies for female recruits, the Ministry of Defence said, adding that it is offering a special salary scale for women.

Already 400 female soldiers are undergoing training, it added.
