55 ISIL militants killed in Nangarhar operations

JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- At least 55 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) militants, including six commanders, were killed in a 24-hour span in Nangarhar Province, said officials.

Afghan troops killed 47 ISIL members in Haska Mina and Bati Kot districts, according to the provincial government press office, the Afghanistan Times reported Sunday (February 26).

Air strikes killed eight more ISIL militants in Achin District Saturday and Sunday (February 25 and 26), local security officials said, according to Khaama Press.
