LAGHMAN, Afghanistan -- A military operation in Mehtarlam, Laghman Province, left 20 Taliban militants and two soldiers dead, TOLO News reported Thursday (March 2).
The Taliban attacked Mehtarlam Tuesday (February 28) but security forces retaliated, killing 20 of the assailants, said provincial governor Abdul Jabbar Naimi.
Two army officers were killed in the battle, according to security officials.
