LASHKARGAH, Afghanistan -- A former member of the Laghman Provincial Council died Wednesday (March 22) from gunshot wounds, said officials.
Qari Roohullah Faizan was shot Tuesday night on his way home in Mehtarlam, Laghman governor's spokesman Sarhadi Zwak told Pajhwok Afghan News. He died at a hospital in Jalalabad, Nangarhar Province.
Meanwhile, a suicide bomber blew up his car Monday (March 20) in Gereshk District, Helmand Province, killing eight security personnel, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Tuesday (March 21), quoting the provincial police chief.
