Taliban shadow governor among 67 militants killed in Afghan operations

KUNDUZ -- A Taliban designated governor of Takhar Province was among at least 67 militants killed during security operations across Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said Tuesday (April 18), according to Khaama Press.

The operations were conducted in 13 provinces in the past 24 hours, the MoD said, adding that security forces discovered and defused 60 manufactured bombs.

The Taliban's shadow governor for Takhar Province, Qari Tayeb, was among 16 militants killed during an air strike in Dasht-i-Archi District of Kunduz Province Monday (April 17), police said.
