KABUL -- A top Taliban leader was killed and another was detained in separate operations in Nuristan and Baghlan provinces, officials said.
A Taliban commander was killed when police ambushed a group of insurgents in Waigal District of Nuristan Monday (April 17) evening, Provincial Governor Hafiz Abdul Qayum confirmed, according to Khaama Press.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested top Taliban leader Mawlavi Abdul Hai Haqyar during a raid in Baghlan Province, said Najib Danish, the acting spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Khaama Press reported Tuesday (April 18).
