NIMROZ -- Afghan President Ashraf Ghani inaugurated the third phase of Kamal Khan Dam project in Chaharbarak district of Nimroz province Thursday (April 20), saying he hoped the dam would improve the local economy, TOLO News reported.
The dam will irrigate more than 80,000 hectares of agricultural land and create jobs for local residents, Energy and Water Affairs Minister Ali Ahmad Osmani said during the ceremony.
Authorities are also working on a four-year water management plan to store and prevent water wastage, he added.
