Security forces thwart suspected attack on Jalalabad

JALALABAD -- Security forces captured seven suspected militants who were plotting attacks in Nangarhar Province, said officials.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) caught six suspects, including a suspected would-be suicide bomber, in Behsud District, said the NDS, Khaama Press reported Thursday (June 1).

The group planned to attack Jalalabad, said the NDS.

Security forces also detained a suspected "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) operative who was trying to transport four suicide vests from Haska Mina District to Jalalabad, said provincial governor's spokesman Ataullah Khogyani, Khaama Press reported Friday (June 2).
