KABUL -- Police in Farah Province killed five Taliban militants late Thursday (June 29) in fighting off an attack on a police post in Sheb Koh District, reported Afghan media.
At least six police officers were killed in the battle, according to Farah police.
In Khoshi District, Logar Province, an Afghan National Army officer Wednesday (June 28) fatally shot a militant who was trying to kidnap him, said the provincial government press office, according to Khaama Press. The militant was driving a vehicle containing other would-be kidnappers.
