Afghan troops kill 28 Taliban, 24 ISIS members in operations nationwide

KABUL -- Afghan troops killed dozens of insurgents in fighting nationwide, media reported.

In two districts in Ghor Province, combat left 22 Taliban and four troops dead, TOLO News reported Friday (July 21), quoting provincial police.

Troops in Shindand District, Herat Province, killed 20 insurgents in a three-day operation ending Friday, TOLO News reported, quoting the Herat provincial government.

Six Taliban militants and six police officers were killed in violence in Ghazni and Nangarhar Province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Thursday (July 20), quoting Ghazni provincial police and Nangarhar officials. The militants and two police officers were killed during a Taliban attack on security outposts in Ghazni Province, while a roadside bomb killed four police officers in Nangarhar Province.

In Khogyani District, Nangarhar Province, local residents Thursday (July 20) killed 24 "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) members in combat, Khaama Press reported, quoting local officials and the Nangarhar government.
