KABUL -- An Afghan air strike Monday (July 24) in Faryab Province killed 28 militants, including seven Taliban commanders, TOLO News reported.

The air strike was called in after militants besieged 60 troops in Kohistan District Sunday, according to the Afghan National Army.

Meanwhile, the Taliban seized Jani Khel District, Paktia Province, Tuesday, Khaama Press reported, quoting local officials.

However, Paktia provincial police insisted that troops still control many security posts in Jani Khel.
