HERAT -- Afghan authorities Wednesday (September 13) arrested Abdul Hai Rasooli, police chief for Herat International Airport, in connection with suspicion of drug smuggling, TOLO News reported Thursday (September 14).
Rasooli was arrested by the provincial serious crimes unit, confirmed provincial governor's spokesman Jeelani Farhad.
Authorities accuse Rasooli of involvement in transporting narcotics.
