LAGHMAN -- Five Taliban militants were killed and eight others wounded when their improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Laghman province, reported Khaama Press Wednesday (October 11).
The explosion took place as the militants were planting the IED on a roadside in the Dara-e-Sangar area of Alingar district, according to officials from the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA).
A local Taliban commander identified as Mawlavi Qasim was among those killed, said officials.
