MAZAR-I-SHARIF -- Two gunmen riding a motorcycle carried out an attack targeting Munir Ahmad Farhad, the spokesman for the governor of Balkh province, Khaama Press reported Wednesday (October 11).
The incident took place earlier Wednesday close to Farhad's residence in Mazar-i-Sharif, according to provincial police chief Abdul Raziq Qaderi.
Farhad was injured in the attack and the gunmen fled the area, Qaderi said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
