SAR-E-PUL -- Taliban militants burned down houses and felled nearby trees for lumber in Mirzawalang village, Sar-e-Pul Province, Ariana News reported Wednesday (October 25), citing local residents and officials.
The Taliban captured parts of the Mirzawalang area October 12. Hundreds of residents have fled their homes in Sar-e-Pul after recent violence.
Taliban militants have plundered the area during the past three days, according to a resident.
Zabiullah Amani, the spokesman for Sar-e Pul's governor, confirmed the devastation.
