MAIDAN WARDAK -- Afghan security forces have foiled a co-ordinated attack by Taliban militants on a police training centre in Maidan Wardak Province, Khaama Press reported Wednesday (November 8).

Taliban fighters attempted to storm an Afghan National Police (ANA) academy in Syedabad District Tuesday (November 7), said Zondi Gul Zamani, the provincial governor of Maidan Wardak.

Fifteen militants, including several suicide bombers, were killed. Afghan forces did not suffer any casualties, security officials said.

The Taliban had no comment.
