Afghan forces in Nangarhar kill 20 ISIS, Taliban fighters

NANGARHAR -- Afghan forces killed 20 militants in operations during the past 24 hours in Nangarhar Province, Khaama Press reported Monday (November 20) citing local officials.

At least 13 "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) fighters and three Taliban militants were killed in air strikes in the Khogyani and Achin districts, said the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army.

A local ISIS leader identified as Saqib was among those killed, officials said.

Separately, in Chaparhar District, four ISIS fighters were killed in a clash with Afghan security forces, according to officials.

Militants had no immediate comment.
