NANGARHAR -- An operation by Afghan security forces and a coalition air strike have killed at least 12 "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) fighters in Nangarhar Province, Khaama Press reported Monday (December 11).
Security forces launched an operation in Khogyani District, leading to a battle and the deaths of nine ISIS members, the provincial government media office said in a statement.
Afghan forces confiscated weapons, ammunition and explosives while clearing five villages of militants, said the statement.
Separately, a coalition air strike Saturday (December 9) in Haska Mina District killed at least three ISIS militants, provincial police said in a statement.
