Coalition air strikes in Helmand take out 3 more Taliban drug labs

HELMAND -- Coalition air strikes in Helmand Province have destroyed at least three more heroin labs operated by the Taliban, Khaama Press reported Friday (December 22).

The air strikes took place in Kajaki District late Wednesday (December 20), the provincial government media office said in a statement.

US and Afghan air forces began hitting opium production facilities in Helmand November 19 as part of joint operations against Taliban funding sources, taking out 10 drug labs.

Coalition air strikes on November 22 destroyed four more drug factories in the province.
