Security forces kill 7 Taliban militants in Uruzgan operation

URUZGAN -- Afghan forces have killed at least seven Taliban militants during an operation in Uruzgan Province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Thursday (January 4).

The latest operation took place in the Kaftar Khan and Hazargi areas, said Rahmat Shah Qimati, an Afghan National Army brigade commander.

A notorious Taliban commander was among those killed, said Qimati. He gave no other details.
