Security forces arrest 3 high-ranking Taliban members in Paktika

PAKTIKA -- Afghan security forces arrested three senior Taliban militants in Paktika Province, the Ministry of Interior said Wednesday (January 10).

The suspects were arrested in an ambush by Afghan police in Ziruk District on Tuesday (January 9), said the statement.

"The group was the main planner and organizer of terrorist and destructive activities, armed assault and explosions in different parts of Paktika Province," it added.

Security personnel also confiscated a vehicle, a radio handset and ammunition.
