Coalition air strikes kill 23 ISIS militants in Nangarhar

NANGARHAR -- Air strikes in Nangarhar Province killed at least 23 "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) militants, Khaama Press reported Tuesday (January 16).

In one incident Monday (January 15), a coalition air strike hit a militant hideout in the Marki area of Sherzad District, killing two ISIS members, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Tuesday.

Separately, another coalition air strike killed at least 21 ISIS fighters in the Momand Dara area of Achin District, said the statement.

There were no casualties among civilians or security personnel, it added.
