HELMAND -- Afghan special forces discovered a major Taliban arms cache in Helmand Province, Khaama Press reported Wednesday (January 17).
Troops found the cache Monday (January 15) during an operation in Sangin District, said a statement from the office of the provincial governor.
The cache included over 200 RPG rockets, 150 improvised explosive devices, and 300 kg of explosives, among other weapons, the statement said.
Three militants were killed and three others were arrested during the operation, it added.
Early this month, Afghan security forces uncovered another Taliban weapon cache in Maidan Wardak.
