NANGARHAR -- National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives killed at least five Taliban militants, including a commander, in Nangarhar Province, the provincial government media office said in a statement Thursday (March 8).
The operation occurred late Wednesday (March 7) in Surkh Rod District, said the statement.
The dead included the head of the Taliban intelligence unit in the area, according to the statement.
Authorities also made 12 arrests.
