Security forces arrest top Taliban recruiter in Herat

HERAT -- Afghan National Police arrested a top Taliban recruiter during an operation in Herat Province, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement Wednesday (April 4).

The suspect, identified as Mullah Akhar, was detained Tuesday (April 3) in Ghoryan District, said the statement.

"Mullah Akhtar was the group's recruiter," said the statement, adding that he had a "key role" in organising and conducting terrorist activities in the province.
