Militant killed by own explosives in Paktia

PAKTIA -- At least one militant was killed and three others wounded when the explosives they were planting prematurely detonated in Paktia Province, said the 203rd Thunder Corps of the Afghan National Army in a statement Monday (April 9).

The improvised explosive device (IED) blew up on its handlers in Aryub Zazai District, said the statement.

Afghan officials identified the deceased militant as Mohammad Wali.

Afghan forces defused three more IEDs in Paktia and Maidan Wardak provinces, according to the statement.
