Security forces kill 40 militants nationwide

KABUL -- Afghan security forces killed 40 militants in operations throughout the country, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence Wednesday (April 11).

Air and artillery strikes hit militants in at least 13 provinces over the past 24 hours, said the statement.

Those killed included a French militant in Jawzjan Province and Mullah Naeem, a Taliban commander, in Zabul Province, the statement said.
