KABUL -- The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Thursday (May 17) that its operatives arrested a suspected top recruiter of the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) terrorist group in Kabul, TOLOnews reported.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Maihan, was captured in the 11th police district of Kabul city, according to the NDS statement.
Authorities also arrested an accused accomplice of Maihan.
In addition to recruiting for the terrorist group, the suspects had been tasked with moving the families of ISIS members from Jalalabad to Kabul, and then to Jawzjan Province. However, NDS operatives broke up their plan, said the statement.
