KABUL -- Afghan National Army (ANA) special forces freed at least 58 captives from a Taliban prison in Helmand Province, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement Tuesday (July 17). The date of the raid was not disclosed.
The operation took place in Musa Qala District, said the statement.
"As a result, 58 innocent people, including four [ANA] soldiers, 15 National Police personnel and four doctors, were freed from the Taliban prison," the statement added.
The troops captured four militants, said the ministry.
The Taliban had no immediate response.
