GARDEZ -- Afghan security forces killed at least 25 militants, including several foreign nationals, during clashes in Paktia Province, the 203rd Thunder Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Thursday (August 9).
More than 40 other militants were wounded, said the statement.
The battle erupted when militants launched co-ordinated attacks in Aryub Zazai and Ahmad Khel districts, it added.
The militants had heavy weapons, according to the statement.
Officials did not provide further details.
