HERAT -- A suicide bombing Thursday (August 9) in Herat killed at least three civilians, Pajhwok Afghan News reported. The dead included two children, according to Khaama Press.
The incident took place at about 6pm in the 8th police district of Herat city, said Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.
Eleven other Afghans were wounded, Rahimi said.
Amir Shindand, a former Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander, was among those wounded, he added.
No militant group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
