Air strike kills Taliban spy chief in Paktia and 6 others

PAKTIA -- An air strike killed at least seven key Taliban members, including the group's shadow spy chief for the southeast, in Paktia Province, the provincial governor's press office said in a statement Thursday (September 13). It did not give the date of the incident.

The strike hit the militants in their vehicle in Ahmad Abad District, said the statement.

Officials identified the Taliban shadow spy chief as Zeenatullah, also known as Farhad.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
