MAIDAN WARDAK -- Afghan security forces killed at least 67 militants and wounded 15 others in the past 24 hours during joint operations in Maidan Wardak Province, the Defence Ministry said in a statement Monday (September 24).
The operations, which had air support, took place in Jaghatu District, said the statement.
Separately, Afghan forces raided a Taliban-run prison in the province late Sunday (September 23), freeing eight prisoners, including six Afghan security personnel, the Voice of America reported Monday.
