Coalition air strike kills 2 Taliban senior commanders in Kunar

LAGHMAN -- A coalition air strike killed two senior commanders of the Taliban's Red Unit in Asmar District, Kunar Province, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Tuesday (October 2).

The strike hit a vehicle carrying two militant commanders identified as Mohammad Yousuf and Mullah Ayub, said the statement without providing further details on the timing of the strike.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
