16 Taliban militants killed by own explosives in Ghazni

GHAZNI -- A premature Taliban blast killed at least 16 of the group's own fighters in Qarabagh District, Ghazni Province, the provincial police press office said in a statement Monday (October 8).

The militants were making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) inside a house in Qarabagh District when the explosives detonated, said the statement without adding when exactly the blast occurred.

The explosion destroyed at least 16 IEDs, added the statement.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
