Afghan police kill senior Taliban commander in Paktika

PAKTIKA -- Afghan National Police killed a senior Taliban commander in Paktika Province, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Tuesday (October 9).

The incident took place after the police ambushed Taliban commander Ehsanullah Monday (October 8) in Sharana, the provincial capital, said the statement.

One militant was wounded.

Ehsanullah was involved in plotting several terrorist attacks in Paktika, according to officials.
