Afghan forces kill 21 Taliban and Haqqani militants in Maidan Wardak

MAIDAN WARDAK -- National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces killed at least 21 senior Taliban militants and members of the Haqqani Network in Maidan Wardak Province, Khaama Press reported Thursday (October 11), citing an undated statement by the NDS.

Some high-ranking Taliban and Haqqani Network leaders were among the militants killed in Syedabad District, said the NDS in a statement without providing details on the timing of operations.

Afghan forces had air support during these operations, the statement added.
