KABUL -- Afghan forces are preparing to launch a large-scale offensive to suppress the Taliban militants who recently attacked two districts in Ghazni Province, Khaama Press reported Tuesday (November 13).

The operations against the militants will likely kick off Tuesday, Afghan National Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mohammad Sharif Yaftali said, as he arrived in Malistan District, Ghazni Province, one of the districts targeted by the Taliban.

Separately, Afghan forces from the 203rd Thunder Corps have already launched an offensive, called Thunder-4, in some parts of Ghazni Province, said the corps in a Tuesday statement.
